Run, Run, As Fast As You Can!

The Great Max Escape...Almost!
Step 1: Mommy catches boy trying to unplug lamp and play with outlet. Mommy says, "No, Max!"

Step 2: Boy takes off as fast as he can! Must run (crawl) from mommy!

Step 3: Escape is almost complete-must climb the stairs! (Which he can do quite efficiently now-we have to be ever vigilant)

Finale: Decided not to test mommy's patience and turns around at the last minute. Who could stay mad at that grin!

An Uneventful Halloween

As you can see, we didn't do a whole lot for Max's first Halloween-first came the pancakes for breakfast, then a visit with Aunt Grace and then dinner at Yaya's house. Fun but nothing to get too excited about. Moving right along....

Heading Home

We stopped off at the James A Gaston's visitors center at the Bull Shoals Dam on our way home. Had to get a few more family pictures and let Max stretch his legs one last time before the long drive home. Enjoy the view!
Max with the world record Brown Trout-almost as big!

They have aquariums with trout in them and Max thought they were pretty cool, except he wanted to bang on the glass and touch them!

Another good looking family picture.Beautiful boy getting too big too fast! I want him to stay this big forever! (or at least a while longer!) He has started letting go of things and he stays standing for a few seconds longer each day! Not fair-he is growing up. I guess that is how I can justify the ridiculous number of pictures I take!

I am so blessed!

Vacation 2009!

We had a great vacation this year-not that we don't have fun every year! Gaston's never disappoints and this year we had Max to make it that much better. He was quite a trooper in the car-the 3 1/2 hour drive both ways was a test of his patience but he did great. It is easier to show than explain-so enjoy the pictures from our first family vacation/3rd wedding anniversary!
Helping mommy get our bags packed! Lots and lots of help-he was making sure the bag was big enough!
This is pretty much how he slept the first 2 hours of the trip! (Note that he had to take his socks off-he NEVER sleeps in his car seat until he pulls them off!)
He thought the squirrels outside were the coolest things ever-they were there just to entertain him and he couldn't understand why they ran away when he pounded on the window to talk to them!
Here are my boys just chillin in the cabin-probably the best thing about Gastons-we do lots of "chillin"!
Max helping Grandpa Mark get his fishing line ready to catch all the big fish-once again, he was a BIG help!
They have a bird "area" (for lack of a better word) and Max loved it! There were peacocks, pheasants, guineas and other pretty birds-some in the cages and others that are allowed to just wander around.
I just like this picture because we have one of my dad hugging a tree at close to the same age-Max had no interest in the tree-he is playing with a Sweetgum tree ball.
Max and Grandma Donna cheering on the Hogs in their Razorback gear-didn't help though :-(
Chowing down on Mommy's blueberry muffin-yum!yum! Note:the mark on his nose is from his attempt to crawl off the bed in the dark-quite unsuccessfully I might add!
We so rarely get a picture of all three of us together. Note:I look very short-since Max is mobile now I tend to go for flats instead of my normal heels. Oh well-I wouldn't trade it for the world!

The proud Grandparents and the little rascal-getting ready to head home!A great FIRST visit at Gastons White River Resort-looking forward to next year!

A Phenomenal Visit!

We got to visit with our favorite Tulsa residents over our birthday weekend! Baker has gotten to be a big boy-sorry Keb, he is no longer a little guy! He is still uber cute though! He and Max did great together. I really didn't know how either guy would do-Max is very grabby, tear-it-up, in-your-face right now and I thought Baker might get annoyed by it. Much to my surprise, Baker seemed quite happy to build block towers and let Max come right behind and smash them down. Good Job Baker! We appreciate it. We had a great visit and hope we get to visit again soon!
Aren't they just the cutest little guys ever! They even kinda matched-not on purpose but it worked!
Good Lookin Bunch!
