My little helper!

Now this was entirely Cody and Max. Apparently Max was trying to climb in the dryer (which is totally believable since he tries to climb in/on/over everything these days!) and Cody decided it would be cute to help him in. This is the result:

A very happy boy who DID NOT want to come out when I decided it was bath time!
Now every time I am in the laundry room he makes a bee line for the dryer and stands there grunting and pointing until I have to pick him up and forcibly remove him from the room!

See-not amused when I mention "bath time"!

Playing Dress Up

And you thought you could only play dress up with girls! Ha! His most recent discovery is that all of my shirts are within reach of his grabby little paws in the closet. This means that I have to rehang the same item an average of 4 times a day. He tends to fixate on one or two shirts a day and no matter what I do-he has to pull them off the hanger and drag them around the house. (its a good thing I am a slacker where ironing is concerned-it would be a total waste!)
So the other night he wanted my green shirt-and then started screaming bloody murder when he tried to put it on and got stuck. But all was right after mommy came to the rescue and helped him into it. He was quite content to go about his nightly routine with his adjusted wardrobe.

He is a constant source of amusement. And, yes, he tripped about a bajillion times but he wouldn't let me fix the length-I think he was afraid I would make him take it off and put it away.
I am not sure what his deal with that rock is, but every time he goes up the stairs he has to stop and point it out. Dunno!

He has stolen my heart!

OK-do I need to say more? I mean-does it get better than this? Clean, cute, happy, reading to himself!

I challenge you to find a more adorable 14.5month old red headed, brown eyed little boy in the whole world!

I tried to catch Max while he was pushing the wagon but the little guy has his daddy's attention span-and I am not even close to that fast with the camera!

When you give the boy a pen...

The title may lead you to believe that when you give the boy a pen he makes a huge mess. Maybe when he gets the whole "holding onto and making it work" part down-then yes-it would be a giant mess. At this point in his little life Max just wants to do whatever mommy and daddy do-this results in movies being put on shelves and in the wrong places but with the right intentions. It also results in his wanting a pen of his own after he saw me using one. So I gave him one and a piece of paper and showed him how to make it work. He kinda made a few little dinky marks and then got tired of trying so...

...he walked around the store just poking the movies with it, talking to himself the whole time.

After he had made his rounds he went back to the paper and tried to draw some more...

...didn't work!

This is what Mad Toddler looks like when he doesn't get his way these days! It probably had more to do with the fact that he had chosen to forgo his afternoon nap and was quite touchy. But-he obviously wanted to blame the stupid paper and its lack of cooperation!
Note:the reason he was just wearing a shirt and diaper is that, during our attempt to get him to take a nap we had all gotten quite hot and frustrated-so pants removal on his part was a must-lack of socks was his idea entirely! And no-there were no customers in our store at this time and we do not allow him to run around like this outside of our home ever-this was a temporary state of undress!

My little bookworm!

Max has finally started to love being read to. hurray! Now-we do still tend to have to speed read, due to the fact that Max gets done looking at the pictures before we are done with the words. (even Goodnight Moon has too many words per page for this guy!) I guess it is a work in progress-I am just pleased that he is getting there!
These pictures were the other night-he brought the book to me, grunted and pointed to the chair. I tried to sit in the chair and he just kept pushing me like I was supposed to move over-so I obliged! He kept grunting (his current mode of communication) and pointing until I put him in the chair all by himself and voila-quite content to read to himself!

The most perfect weekend!

These pictures are all that you really need to get an idea of just how perfect the past few weekends were-we have gotten to just hang out with Max and enjoy the sun that has finally decided to grace us with its presence~

The above picture and the following one are both of Max in his "chariot". It is the box from our new grill with a rope through it so we can pull him around in the yard-very fun and a great workout for mommy!

So sweet!

Max has probably grown almost 2 full inches in the past...eh...6weeks or so! Thus, hte baby fat is disappearing and he is looking more like a little boy and way less like a baby. I miss it already!
