Chomp Chomp!

Well, Max has changed yet again. For the past few months we have been able to enjoy sleeping around 7 hours a night. Max wouldn't sleep uninterrupted the entire time but it was always only a matter of 2-3 mins to get him back to sleep. The past 3 nights in a row he has decided to get up at 1 AM and stay up for at least an hour. He isn't being grumpy or upset-he is just awake. Unfortunately, he requires an audience so either Cody or myself has to be up with him. Not nice! Not to mention-does anyone have a child that sleeps still at night? Max kicks and wiggles an insane amount! (Probably my biggest reason for really wanting him outta MY bed!) My quality sleep is completely gone!
Oh-now that Max has discovered his little nippers he has taken up spontaneously biting anything/anyone close to him! This has resulted in more than one surprised victim-like Aunt Audrey in church, or mommy carrying the boy up the stairs, or daddy trying to sleep in the bed next to the little piranha! Something is going to have to change-the child is just getting more teeth and stronger jaws. Right now, if you get bit and say "ow" or some such exclamation, the little monster will look at you and laugh! Scary, I know! SEE!-Those little things hurt!
Beyond all of those complaints, life is great! I have the cutest baby boy in the world and an absolutely AWEsome husband. Max is trying to walk and crawl more and more each day. We are really looking forward to trying to keep up with him.
The picture above is mostly on here cuz he is such a stinkin cute naked boy-but also so you can get a real idea of just how massive his thighs are! And yes-we know he has no butt! It is a Lukas man thing!
And see-He is soo close to crawling. He gets in this position and will sit there rocking back and forth a few minutes before he just gives up and does a belly flop.

He sticks that little hiney as far up in the air as he can-my little yoga boy!

He loves Grandpa Mark's motorcycle, sooo many shiny metal pieces!

Sleepy sleepy baby!

Ok the title of this post comes both from the following picture and the fact that he is currently SACKED OUT! While we may not have nighttime down to a fine science yet, we definitely have nap time figured out! Between 12:30 and 1:30 he will fall asleep, usually with minimal fussing, and he will sleep anywhere from 1.5-3.5 hours! L.O.V.E it! So here is one of my favorite pictures right now. I had to pull over on the side of the road to get it-so appreciate it!

And yes-he fell asleep examining his lion-it was very cute. I have a few more pictures that I am currently in love with-Max is obviously the center of our world right now, Lol! If I were to hazard a guess I would say I have taken 2, maybe 3 pictures of something other than baby in the past 3 weeks! I really need to find a few new hobbies-this is beginning to get serious!

In this last picture he is walking around with his tub toy alligator in his mouth! Yes-that is his current mode of toy transfer. At this point in his development he would far prefer to hold your fingers and walk than anything else. So, that's what we do! He is quite good at it and if he is next to something relatively short (like a coffee table) he will pull up and cruise along. We are quite proud! I predict that he will be crawling in less than 2 weeks, he is SOOOOO close. Well, I hear sleeping beauty growling at me...

Max knows best...

well-I was going to sit down and write a litttle but my dear 7.5 month old has other ideas. He and I have been going back and forth since somewhere around 12am!!!! Growing pains maybe? Or perhaps (and more likely) he has started really started developing his attitude. Oh well-it was bound to be sometime-why not now!?! Well screaming baby is demanding my attention-later....

Oh-I Forgot!

I said we haven't had any new developments lately but we kinda have...I guess. I reached a kind of breaking point a few days ago-I was tired and it was hot and Max kept biting me! Not a fun afternoon. Plus Cody and I have reached a point where I think we REALLY need a night out without Max. So my solution was to pump and then send him to my mom's so Cody and I could go out to eat or even just go fishing, weird I know but I miss it! WEEEELLLLL-if that wasn't a disaster I don't know what is. It has been months since we had a need to use a bottle with Max and let me tell you-he was not impressed with it. So we tried a few different bottles and positions but nothing worked. I might need to tell you at this point-I was having Cody feed him. It wont do any good if he will only take a bottle from me! Well-it didn't work. He would only stop all out I-am-dying screams when I took him. So we are back to square one and still no night out. We have eaten ONE meal without a baby in the room since Jan 8 2009. I am sure I am doing something wrong and if anyone has any idea I am pretty sure I would try it. In fact if you said I should stand on my head and sing the ABC's backwards I would give it a go, lol!

Doesn't he look like a little angel?............you shoulda seen him with a bottle-not pretty!

Seven Months and Still Going Strong

Well I guess we have hit a lul in the "reaching milestones" growth spurt Max has been on since 8 weeks. It is making for a few slow news days, but it also make for nice predictable days, which are great. 2 weeks ago Max cut his sixth tooth-hopefully the last for a while! I guess the next thing on our learn-to-do list will be crawling-we are just waiting! Max pulls up and is quickly learning to "cruise" around his crib or pack-n-play. So who knows, he may just skip the whole crawling bit and go straight to walking. I kinda doubt it but he never fails to surprise me.

He is soooo proud of himself when he pulls up-I absolutely must get a picture of his new face-he scrunches up his cheeks to the point of his eyes almost being closed, it is VERY cute!

He is quite the musician-it also keeps him busy while I cook, LOVE the keyboard!

We went swimming for the first time a few weeks ago and as you can see from the smile-he loved it.

We also had a fun visit from a highschool friend and her little darling, Emerly. Max was captivated.
